Welcome to UCD and congrats on starting an exciting year of college! UCD Karate Club is once again opening its Dojo doors to welcome all new and returning members.
For complete beginners
No experience in any martial arts is needed, any fitness level is welcome. Try it out one afternoon with us, and if you like it – stick around for just €15 for an entire year!
If you’ve practised karate before
…Or are a bad-ass black-belt (in any martial art) – come talk to us because we are assembling exciting competition squad and have ambitious goals this year.
I’M IN! WHAT DO I NEED TO DO??
Mark your calendar for 23 Sep, 6pm – do it through a button below. You can also click on “GOING” in the Facebook event to mark your attendance and stay updated! Wear stretchy or loose fitting clothes (no shoes needed), some bottled water and a positive attitude. Contrary to popular belief, we’re a friendly bunch. You can also talk to us at the booth during Freshers Week and get some free drinks. If you can’t wait to get started, join us on Mon, Wed, Fri for regular training leading up to the event for a head start!
Stick around after the event because we’ve booked at the Red Room (in UCD Sports Centre) for an after-party with food and refreshments.

UCD Karate is the oldest and one of the largest college martial arts clubs in Dublin. With over 40 illustrious years of heritage, we have won numerous awards all over Ireland and are currently the reigning champion of 2019 All-Ireland Intervarsities cup. Read more about us here.
Our promise to you is within 3 months of regular training, you will be able to compete on a city and even national level with strong chance of winning trophies Example? In December 2018 our members (including complete beginners) snatched 15 out of possible 17 gold medals in All-Dublin Intercollegiate Competition. We are confident you too can earn at least a medal by end of this year.
